Sohee Park, also recognized as “Miss Sohee,” is a South Korean fashion designer specializing in women’s wear and currently situated in London. Captivated by the sense of liberation she found in illustrating, Park started transforming her sketches from mere drawings into tangible pieces, crafting lively silhouettes and intricate embroidery.
Handcrafted pink crystals are meticulously attached to a cerulean blue base, evoking the imagery of a garden.
The dress, involving the collaboration of 12 designers, reportedly took a staggering 1,424 hours to complete.
At the 2024 Met Gala, there were about 250 pieces on display. The dress code, “The Garden of Time,” was influenced by J.G. Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name. It inspired a variety of interpretations, with numerous floral and botanical ensembles adorning the renowned Met Gala red carpet.
The Met Gala, formally known as the Costume Institue Benefit, serves as an annual charitable fundraiser for The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in Manhattan. It has typically coincided with the debut of its yearly fashion exhibition. The Gala occurs every year on the first Monday of May.
