Google Has Released Its Trending Searches Rankings For 2023, A Look Back At Google Search

Trending search query rankings are not based on absolute search volume, but rather on the increase in search volume from year to year. Bibimbap took the top spot in the “recipe” category of the Global Search of the Year. This shows the global interest in Korean food.

Bibimbap (비빔밥)

Bibimbap is a Korean rice dish. It consists of rice with meat, vegetables, and other seasonings (usually Gochujang). There are many different types of bibimbap depending on the region, most notably Jeonju bibimbap and Jinju bibimbap.

• Jeonju Bibimbap (전주비빔밥): Bean sprouts are boiled with rice in a rice cooker, mixed with rice in the pot, and served with seaweed and hwangpomuk (mung bean jelly).

• Jinju bibimbap (진주비빔밥): Bibimbap with beef yukhoe (Korean seasoned raw beef) as a garnish is served with Seonji-guk (Blood Hangover Soup). The gochujang is made by stir-frying beef and gochujang in beef oil. As a result, this bibimbap tastes more meaty than regular bibimbap.
