Today is Memorial Day in Korea!

Memorial Day is called 현충일 (Hyeon-chung-il) in Korean

June 6 is a public holiday that commemorates all the Koreans who have contributed to or died while serving the country. A memorial ceremony is held in Seoul National Cemetery.

A Siren for Prayer

At 10 in the morning, a siren rings all over the country for a minute. It’s to give silent prayers for the heroes of the country.

Today, there was the 68th Memorial Ceremony at Seoul National Cemetery. At the speech, President Yoon said, “I pray for patriotic martyrs who made a noble sacrifice for the country.”
