Traffic Congestion Anticipated For the New Year Holiday In South Korea

February 10 Is Lunar New Year, And The Lunar New Year Holiday Runs From The 9th Through The 12th

The peak time for traffic congestion during the Lunar New Year’s holiday is expected to be 6 a.m. on February 9th, the first day of the holiday. Congestion is expected to worsen on the afternoon of February 8th, with Seoul-Gwangju taking over 7 hours and Seoul-Daejeon over 5 hours between 1pm and 5pm. Congestion is expected to continue into the early hours of February 9th, peaking it at 6 a.m. The best time to avoid traffic is expected to be from 10pm on February 9th to 4am on February 10th.
