Bacha Coffee, A High-End Cafe Under Singapore’s V3 Gourmet Group, Secures Distribution Rights In South Korea

According to industry sources, Lotte Department Store will open its first Singaporean Basha Coffee store in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, this July.

Basha Coffee is a new brand that started in 2019, but it utilized the concept of ‘Dar el Bacha palace’, a coffee house in Marrakech, Morocco, which opened in 1910, to create its name, and ‘1910’ is featured on the front of the store and brand packaging.

In addition to Singapore, Basha Coffee has a presence in nine other countries, including France, Hong Kong, and Dubai, with a total of 18 stores.

In 2023, Canada’s Tim Holtons Chose South Korea As Its Seventh Country In Asia

Within a month of opening its first store, it sold more than 100,000 cups of coffee and 300,000 donuts. The company is aggressively expanding its number of stores, with a fifth opening this month.

Peet’s Coffee And Intelligentsia Coffee Aalso Set To Land In Korea

Chicago-based Intelligentsia Coffee already has a small pop-up style store in Hyundai Department Store Pangyo, and plans to open its first official Korean store in Seochon area, soon. California-based Peet’s Coffee has also applied for a trademark in Korea and is reportedly considering entering the country.

There Are Other International Brands With Fewer Stores

% ARABICA from Japan, Cong Cafe (Cộng Cà Phê) from Vietnam, April Coffee Roasters from Denmark, and The Barn Cafe from Germany are also operating in Korea.
