The Number Of Korean Women Marrying Vietnamese Men Has Increased Significantly
It rose by 2.8 times over the past decade. The majority of these women are from Vietnam and have acquired Korean citizenship by marrying Korean men. In other words, they are Vietnamese women who have remarried Vietnamese men in Korea.
Last year, international marriages accounted for 1 out of 10 couples getting married in Korea. While the number of marriages between Korean nationals has decreased, international marriages have increased, leading to an overall increase in the total number of marriages in 12 years.
The demographic changes resulting from the increasing trend of international marriages in Korea are drawing attention.
