The Boreumdal(보름달) refers to when the moon is positioned on the opposite side of the Earth from the Sun, making its entire surface brightly visible from Earth. This appearance typically occurs around the 15th day of the lunar month. “Boreum” means “fifteen days,” and “Dal” means “moon” in Korean.
In Korea, the full moon on the 15th day of the lunar month in January is called “Jeongwol Daeboreum,” and the full moon on the 15th day of the lunar month in August is referred to as “Chuseok.”
