Starting in March, we’ll be able to pay for street food such as bungeo-ppang (a fish-shaped pastry filled with red bean paste or cream puffs) and fish cakes with a card in Myeongdong, Seoul.How?

By March, Myeongdong street vendors will be required to register as businesses and install card terminals.

In addition, the selling prices of 10 popular menu items, such as bunsik, fish cake, and grilled squid, will be monitored on a monthly basis to eradicate overcharges.

The introduction of card payment for street vendors is the first of its kind in Jung-gu, Seoul, and is said to be an improvement that reflects the trend of social change and the needs of tourists.
