내 이름은 김삼순 (My Lovely Sam-soon), a popular TV series aired in 2005 that put the entire nation into the Kim Sam-soon Syndrome.

The series recorded the highest view rating of over 50%, which means over half of Koreans watched it. Literally everyone talked about the show and everything on the series went viral.

It’s a romantic comedy that shows the life of Kim Sam-soon, an unmarried, “old maid” patissier. Although the drama includes the clichés of Cinderella’s story and the love triangle, the director does an excellent job of twisting the plot in a very interesting, unexpected way.

Kim Sam-soon used to be the pronoun of an old maid after the series aired. Unbelievably, she was only 30 years old. Many people were shocked that the series put a 30-year-old as an old maid.

Who’s in the show? Hyun Bin, Kim Sun-ah, Jung Ryeo-won, and Daniel Henney. Everyone in the series became top celebrities after the series. ✌️
